Well we left our cell phone on the plane so that was a sucky start but it’s been all up hill from there…
Here’s a snapshot of day 1:
Started day with falafel and beer, needed grounding after the 9hr flight, not apologizing that’s just the way we replace our electrluticals (yes a fake remedy to a fake malady).
Service everywhere has been incredible. For everything. We want to send everyone home so we can always feel like this.
Ummmmm 4 to 1 exchange rate What!!!!
We have been up and down Novy Swiat twice. Basically a 20 min Blvd that takes you through a katrillion open air cafes and restaurants surrounded by castles…seriously!
And we have grazed the day away with: pierogi, sangria, borscht, knushki, plazci and cabbage rolls. The last 2 in a 17th century building, in the dark due to a lighting storm …everyone just moved their candles closer to their food and carried on…welcome to beautiful Poland.
Still lots of nice days left although the morning temperature is starting to take an Olympic dive.
Don’t waste your time building elaborate menus right now.
There’s still swimming and hiking and general ‘being outside’ stuff to do.
Here’s a recipe that will make you look like a superstar at the end of a fun filled day that you actually got to participate in because you weren’t hanging around the kitchen! Continue reading
This summer is screaming past so quickly – is it just me?

It’s a generational thing – I may have lost some of you on the whole twirly cord thing! Continue reading
Is there anything more Canadian than standing in a Tim Horton’s on Canada Day morning? I think not.
There I was, picking up a coffee and a cruller for Stevo, just like everyone else in line, except they’re not on a cleanse so there’s that… Continue reading
Canada Day and Memorial Day weekend – be it at the cottage, camping, or your backyard today is not just a today celebration. It’s a whole weekend filled with smells from the BBQ, laughter from outside and the odd Bloody Caesar or even beer! Continue reading
