Santa Maria di Castellabate, Italy
The universe is always sending us signs.
It takes time to recognize these signs.
There’s a whole lot of ‘work’ you have to do to open that door.
I believe the universe also gets so impatient sending out all these signs, only to have them go unnoticed that sometimes it just makes things happen.

This was the case for Castellabate, Italy.
Yet another beautiful spot you’ve probably never heard of.
A highly recommended town was our destination but we came here instead.
Thank you Universe!
First we got lost getting to our hotel. Actually it was our GPS that got lost. We followed it’s directions perfectly.
The unexpected parking lot we found ourselves in forced us to go try and figure out where the hotel was on foot also allowing us the opportunity to explore town.
When I see painted rocks for sale at 16€ it makes me nervous. They were cute though and I have every intention of spending a summer afternoon with the grandkid recreating these but 16€ is dear.

Also a great indication that we have stepped into a tourist town.
The 2km walk to find the hotel was filled with cute window shopping and authentic small town Italy vibes.
Classic Italian alleyway.

This window display was designer pretty for a pharmacy but it was ‘you know who’ that stole the show 🐶

We did find our hotel eventually and a road that goes to it which was nice.
So back to the car we went with destination lunch in mind before check in.
Castellabate has an expansive and scenic waterfront walk.

This restaurant couldn’t be more perfect or any closer to the ocean spray so we plunked ourselves here.

It says seafood 👇 lots of seafoody things.

You don’t really care how long the food takes when you’re sitting here.

And then this!
Spaghetti with clams.

Cheese ravioli. 😘 Perfection.

The neighborhood cats were losing their minds.

Now it was hotel time.

The kind of place that you can really relax at. Postcard perfect.
Which incidentally we usually don’t book cause it keeps us from going out to explore but since EVERYDAY is an explorathon on this Southern Italian road trip we accepted this respite.
What a beautiful place. Stop in here if you have the chance.
Don’t miss out on any part of this fun road trip through southern Italy!
